Jiska Lambrecht (°1997) is a Belgian violinist. After working with Olga Zolotareva she studied with Jolente De Maeyer and Natasha Boyarsky (London). She completed her bachelor at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (Belgium) and obtained her master Violin Solo with Barnabás Kelemen at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Cologne, Germany) summa cum laude. Currently she is specializing with Ilya Gringolts in Zurich (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste). She is also studying baroque violin with Monika Baer.

She had masterclasses and lessons with i.a. Lutsia Ibragimova, Svetlana Makarova, Kristóf Baráti, Erik Schumann, Eszter Perényi, Gordan Nikolic, Mikhail Ovrutsky, Johannes Moser, Jonathan Aner, Walter S Reiter and is laureate of various competitions. She worked with composers such as Jörg Widmann, Michael Jarrell, Yinam Leef and Mathias Coppens.

Jiska is a very active chamber musician. She was selected for the International Bartók Seminar in Szombathely (Hungary), Aurora Old Ox Music Festival, Hirschmann Masterclass Europe 2021 and the Festival Academy Budapest, where she performed together with José Gallardo, Natalia Lomeiko, Maxim Rysanov, Razvan Popovici and the legendary Shlomo Mintz. In 2021 she played next to István Várdai, Máté Szücs and Júlia Pusker at the Kaposfest Festival and she was also invited to the Braunwald Festival. Since 2014 she is a yearly guest at the Arte Amanti International Chamber Music Festival.

End 2021 she was concertmaster under the baton of the British conductor Howard Griffiths. Since 2019 she is a member of the string orchestra Bryggen – Bruges Strings which specializes in music from Northern Europe, Russia and the Baltic States. Jiska was also admitted to the orchestra academy of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra led by Edo de Waart and to the European ESTA Chamber Orchestra.

She performed in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Malta and Russia. Highlights were concerts in Grand Hall and Solti Hall (Franz Liszt Academy Budapest), Tonhalle (Zurich), Yehudi Menuhin Forum (Bern), Dom (Cologne), Bozar (Brussels), De Singel (Antwerp), Concertgebouw (Bruges) and the European Parliament (Strasbourg).

In 2022-2023 Jiska is ‘artist in residence’ for SWUK Flanders.

Iedje van Wees – Cello

Iedje van Wees (°1995) was born in Tilburg, the Netherlands, and started playing the cello at the age of eight. She finished her Bachelor degree Cum Laude with Prof. Mirel Iancovici at the Conservatory of Maastricht, the Netherlands, and in July 2021 she finished her Master degree with ‘Bestnote’ in Cologne, Germany, at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz with Johannes Moser.

She attended solo- and chamber music classes with Gregor Horsch, Gustav Rivinius, Ilya Gringolts, Marie Hallynck, Marc Vossen, Raphaell Bell et al.

Iedje has played in chamber music ensembles and youth orchestras from a very young age. During her studies she was the principal cellist in the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands as well as tutti- and principal cellist in the European Union Youth Orchestra.

In 2018 Iedje was academist of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra in Belgium and the two following years she was an academist in the WDR Sinfonieorchester in Cologne. Iedje won an orchestra job in May 2021 and is now on her trial year in the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker, as a Vorspieler. Besides that she is part of the chamber music foundation ‘Stiftung Villa Musica’.

Iedje is happy to play on a cello build in 2020 by Sebastian Zens in Munich, for which she got financial help from the Dutch foundation ‘Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument’ (SEM).
